With only 1 or 2 exceptions (Kill Bill when it first came out for eg) every Hollywood (or other originally filmed in English) film is available with English soundtrack here (to buy). My only guess is the reason they don't offer all the subtitle files/audio tracks is that they want to try stop illegal imports/exports of DVDs by making them redundant (i.e., they restrict the audio/subtitle tracks to select 'sub-regions' they determine) or am I wrong? I end up having to buy them off .uk and then that means you're less likely to take a risk on some films you would otherwise rent. A real shame because every German DVD I've ever looked at in rental shops have never had an English subtitle option. This may sound a little arrogant, but it boggles the mind that a region 2 DVD (Europe) doesn't come with English subtitles as standard due to the ubiquitous nature of the language it's not like subtitle files on DVDs take up a hell of a lot of space. ![]()
